The Carbon Pre is a professional 8-channel AVB expander/preamplifier ideal for expanding the I/O count of your Pro Tools | Carbon. Featuring the same ultra-transparent preamps as the Carbon, the Carbon Pre offers up to 16 digital I/O in ADAT format, in addition to 8 mic/line preamps. Versatile, it can also be used as a classic stand-alone preamp/converter.

The Pro Tools | Carbon Pre is an 8-channel preamp that features the same ultra-transparent preamps and converters as the Pro Tools | Carbon, offering perfect 32-bit conversion to capture every detail of your productions. With a Carbon Expanded system, you can harness the Pro Tools hybrid engine for low-latency processing, with remote preamp control via Pro Tools.
Each Carbon Pre features 8 mic/line preamps and 8 line outputs, allowing you to expand the I/O capability of your Pro Tools | Carbon with 24 mic/line inputs and 24 line outputs in total. This rich connection is completed by 2 variable impedance instrument inputs, 8 line I/O, ADAT I/O and Word Clock in order to be able to interact with many studio peripherals.

Compatible with the EUCON standard, it integrates perfectly with AVID control surfaces.
