The saying 'cheap is expensive' is often true, but not with this Korala PUC-30-006 Concert Ukelele Junior Skeleton (also called 'Poly Uke'). It may take some getting used to the idea that the body is made of brightly colored polycarbonate, but the PUC-30 plays and sounds very nice. The nickname 'plastic fantastic' is therefore fully in place here.
In terms of price/quality, the PUC-30 scores very highly compared to its wooden colleagues. The fingerboard is made of molded ABS with integrated frets. This is also superior to the often carelessly painted fingerboard with poorly inlaid frets on other ukuleles in this price range.
The Korala PUC-30-006 Concert Ukulele Junior Skeleton is an ideal beginner ukulele, and perhaps more than that: not expensive, but durable. It is that there are still metal tuners attached, otherwise the PUC-30 would be completely water resistant. The seasoned ukulele player can also have a lot of fun with the PUC-30. It is easy to travel with, can take a beating, sounds good, is very affordable and looks cool too. As a gift you can do every aspiring ukulele player a great pleasure with the PUC-30.
